1
Before You Connect

Take a few minutes to review a profile carefully before reaching out. A little diligence early on saves a lot of trouble later.

โœ“
Prefer profiles with a KYC verified badge โ€” it means the member's government ID has been checked.
โœ“
Look for consistency โ€” photos, education, and occupation details should feel coherent, not contradictory.
โœ“
Be cautious of profiles that are brand new, have only one photo, or avoid video calls.
2
Chatting Safely

Keep early conversations on the MatchMithra platform itself โ€” it's safer and easier to report if something goes wrong.

โœ“
Don't share your home address, workplace, daily routine, or financial details in early chats.
โœ“
It's okay to take your time. Genuine matches won't pressure you to move fast or share personal numbers immediately.
โœ“
A voice or video call before exchanging numbers helps confirm the person matches their profile.
3
Money & Fraud
๐Ÿšจ Never send money, gifts, or financial assistance to someone you've met on MatchMithra โ€” no matter how convincing or urgent the request sounds.

Common red flags in matrimonial fraud include:

  • Requests for money for medical emergencies, travel, customs fees, or "processing charges."
  • A match who is conveniently always abroad or unavailable for a video call.
  • Pressure to move the conversation to a different app and act quickly.
  • Stories that escalate emotionally right before a financial request.

MatchMithra will never ask you, on behalf of yourself or another member, to transfer money directly to a member. All subscription payments are processed only through our official Razorpay checkout.

4
Meeting in Person
โœ“
Always meet for the first time in a public place โ€” a cafรฉ or restaurant, not a private home.
โœ“
Tell a family member or friend where you're going, who you're meeting, and roughly when you'll be back.
โœ“
Arrange your own transport to and from the meeting so you're never dependent on the other person.
โœ“
Trust your instincts โ€” if something feels off during or after the meeting, it's okay to step away.
5
Spotting Fake Profiles

Most members on MatchMithra are genuine, but it helps to know what to watch for:

  • Photos that look overly polished or professionally shot like stock images.
  • Profile details that change between conversations.
  • A reluctance to verify KYC or appear on a video call.
  • Claims of wealth, status, or a foreign job that seem disproportionate to the rest of the profile.
๐Ÿ“Œ We strongly encourage KYC verification for every profile, but cannot guarantee every detail a member provides is accurate โ€” please use your own judgement alongside ours.
6
Reporting a Concern

If a profile feels suspicious, asks you for money, or behaves inappropriately, please report it right away using the Report button on their profile page, or by emailing support@matchmithra.com.

We review every report and take action โ€” including suspending or removing accounts โ€” where our guidelines have been violated. Your safety matters more to us than any single match.
